BABE – Bristol Artist’s Book Event at Bower Ashton, UK

We are very pleased to announce that BABE will be taking place on our lovely UWE campus at Bower Ashton (BS3 2JT) over the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April 2022.
108 artists, collectives, small presses and independent publishers will be attending from all over the UK, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Poland plus books coming from Australia, Japan, Brazil and the USA. UWE students and alumni will be exhibiting on collective and individual tables over the weekend alongside.
We have some artist-led workshops – “King of the Rubber Stampers” Stephen Fowler will run a Saturday workshop for participants to create spirited Ghostcards multiples, marking World Book Night Ghosts in the Machine, on Sunday, Alex Czinczel (The Chinchilla) leads MAKE A POP-UP CARD, and Corinne Welch will be running the Make a flowery trouser book workshop. Plus printmaking demos both days by the Lemonade Press. There will also be readings, talks, show & tells in “Collections Corner” and special guests from the Nordic / Scandinavian regions for you to meet.
Our World Book Night exhibition Ghosts in the Machine will be on show in the library, and Linda Parr will be showing the entire Postcards for Perec original artworks in their albums. Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April, 11am-5pm each day. All welcome, free event, we hope to see you here.
