At the Bristol Cable we run lively meetings where our members and the wider community get together to participate in owning and making their media.

We want to empower more of our members to share the facilitation of these meetings so that they can be more inclusive and effective spaces.

If you are a Bristol Cable member who would like to learn these skills and use them to help make our meetings better, then this training is for you.

What is facilitation?

When meetings are effective, people listen to each other, there’s space for everyone to participate, and the group moves forward with decisions and plans. Facilitation is about making it easy for everyone to participate, and helping the group move forward with it’s task.

What will I learn?

In this workshop you’ll learn to facilitate effective discussions in small groups which can include and empower each participant – in ways which help people to share their ideas and hear others, and to effectively capture and carry forward what is said.

Who can attend?

Bristol Cable members are invited to sign up for this free workshop.

Strong preference will be given to members who can commit to coming to three of our monthly meetings in the next 12 months in order to put these skills into practice as part of a small facilitation team.

There are a limited number of places available. Fill in this short form to secure a place

Who is running the session?

The session will be run by Kathryn Tulip from Navigate, a team of experienced facilitators and trainers who facilitate meetings, run workshops and mediate conflicts for groups and organisations working towards social and environmental justice across the UK.
