Members Meeting + ‘Our journalism’ discussion

  • 06/02/17
  • 18:45 - 20:30

As a media cooperative, the Cable is dedicated to put its 1500 owners in the prime seat to review and decide on the organisation’s development, and engage with the content produced.

A concern for all of us is what impact our journalism can have. We are determined to get information off the page and enable discussions about what change could look like in Bristol.

Our monthly members’ meeting provides you with this opportunity. Reserve your free place for Monday 6th of Feb here.

Members’ meeting

For this meeting, Cable coordinator and journalist Alec Saelens invites you to come discuss issues of fuel poverty and the poor quality of Bristol’s housing stock, covered in a recent article.

Cold homes are an issue that affect almost everyone in the city. Reasons vary: extortionate energy bills, low energy efficiency of homes, poor governmental energy policies and poor regulation around housing conditions. Research shows vast concerns with the situation, and the initiatives taken by community groups and institutions to tackle the problem.

Come join a range of individual campaigners and organisations who have been invited to explain the issues and explore the solutions out there.
