More details: https://www.bristolsu.org.uk/groups/bristol-su-black-and-minority-ethnic-network/events/misogynoir-beyond-black-women-speak
The term ‘misogynoir’ was coined by Black queer feminist Moya Bailey in 2010 to describe the unique discrimination Black women face at the intersection of sexism and racism. Join us for a panel event to discuss the underrepresented daily experiences of Black women.
From personal lived experiences and popular culture, to fashion and social life, our panellists will provide a nuanced conversation on the 21st-century Black female experience.
Panellists include:
Hajer Zubairu – ACS President and Panel Chair
Chanté Joseph – University of Bristol Alumnus, Founder of the Bristol BME Powerlist, Social Media Creative and Writer.
Liv Little – University of Bristol Alumnus and Founder of gal-dem
Ife Grillo – Former Chair of Societies Network and Co-founder of Socialists of Colour
Sian Amekuedi – Former Chair of Trans Network and works for transcaf
