Baritone Travis Sherwood and pianist Patrick Fink will present a recital of arts songs and piano works by American composers. The program will include “The Peculiar Case of Dr. H.H. Holmes” by Libby Larsen, songs about the first documented serial killer in the United States and “I Was There” by Lee Hoiby,” songs set to the poetry of Walt Whitman.
Piano selections will include works by Chen Yi, and Michael Leibowitz, as well a new work by David Nord.
The program will conclude with a set of selections from The American Songbook.
Baritone Travis Sherwood is based in San Diego California and pianist Patrick Fink calls Philadelphia home. This recital is produced by The Perspective Collective, a group of classically inclined musicians dedicated to bringing performances of both new and seasoned works that tie into the events and sensitivities of our world today.
