What is the UoC?
The University of…
Collaboration?
Care?
Creativity?

The Work Futures Community, a diverse group of people performing maintenance and service work at the University of Bristol (UoB), invites you to explore presents and futures of higher education both as a space of learning and as a site of labour. By looking at the university from the perspective of social reproduction, the – often invisible – work that keeps us safe, clean, and nurtured, this exhibition attends to hidden realities, and the hopeful futures that derive from them. For 7 days (29/07–04/08), the community will turn a university classroom into a living space for arts and participatory research. Photography, design fictions, and other media, will reflect the work of the community over the past 8 months, and attempt to open new paths to conceptualising work, creativity, and learning. Not by predicting the future, but by living lives that unfold forwards together.
