More details: https://homestartbristol.org.uk/volunteer/

Become a volunteer with Home-Start Bristol to support families with children under 5 who are going through tough times. You’ll receive training, build your skills and gain experience of working with families and children. Previous volunteers have gone on to find paid work in related fields such as childcare, early years, and the care sector.

“We are looking for people who can give some of their spare time and kindness to make a real difference to a family’s life. Becoming a volunteer can make an impact on a child that will last a lifetime.”

Home-Start Bristol works with families across Bristol and South Glos who have young children and who are struggling to cope for a variety of reasons, including financial issues, food poverty, isolation, loneliness, domestic violence or physical and mental health problems. Our trained volunteers typically have parenting experience themselves and can reassure other parents as well as helping them with practical matters. Volunteers are managed by an experienced team and support the family either in their own home, outdoors or by phone, once a week for a period of around six months.  Parents tell us it makes a huge difference to them and the lives of their children to have that support at a time of need. There is no ‘typical’ Home-Start family or Home Start volunteer. Our families and volunteers reflect the diverse communities we serve.

Why not join our next training course starting Tuesday 20th September 2022 at Greenway Centre, Doncaster Road, Southmead, Bristol BS10 5PY. It runs every Tuesday 9:30am – 2:30pm, for five weeks, with the last session on 18th October. Call us on 0117 950 1170, email admin@homestartbristol.org.uk, or visit our website
