Whats Wrong with Drugs? – November 2017 Monthly Members’ Meeting

  • 13/11/17
  • 18:30 - 20:00

Why drugs?

In the summer, the government published its new Drug Strategy, and the Cable is shining a light on the ways drugs and drugs policy impact on the city and people who live here.

We invite Bristol Cable members, local residents and anyone interested in drug-related issues to our Monthly Members’ Meeting, this time at Knowle West Media Centre.

As a result of changes in council funding in the last 5 years, Knowle West is one area of Bristol that suffered the loss of long established drug and alcohol support charities. Whilst other services have emerged across the city, communities continue to be impacted by drugs.

What’s on the agenda?

As part of our ‘What’s wrong with drugs?’ series we’ll hear from Matty Edwards, author of a Cable investigation into use of Spice in Bristol Prisons (available in the current print Issue 13 of The Cable). We’ll discuss how drugs affect our daily lives and what can be done about it.

We’ll also have a usual roundup of updates and how to be part of the new model for media we’re making in Bristol.

Come discuss, ask questions, find out how to get involved, or simply sit back and hear about what your co-op has been up to.

Our monthly members’ meetings are the regular forum for members to find out about and input into the Cable’s activities.

We look forward to welcoming you!
