Members’ Event: Behind the Lopresti Ice-cream Investigation

Join us to hear the inside story on the Lopresti ice cream slavery investigation. Cable journalists Adam and Alon will share the ethical and practical challenges involved.

Background: The Lopresti ice cream business has long served ice creams across Bristol. Bosses Salvatore and Robert Lopresti have also been dogged by notoriety around their business dealings as employers and landlords. In a five years investigation, The Bristol Cable looked into the truth of these rumours and brought a shocking story to light.

What to expect from this event: Cable reporters Adam and Alon will share the twists and turns of our investigation including the ethical condundrums along the way. Attendees will have a chance to discuss what they’ve heard with their table, ask questions and respond to the story.

Who’s the event for? This event is free and open to members and non-members. It’s made possible by members’ contributions, so we encourage you to join us for as little as £1/month.

Please note this venue is fully accessible. Food and drink will be available to purchase from the cafe. 6.30pm arrival for a 7pm start.
