Preemptive Listening is a poetic non-fiction feature by Aura Satz reimagining the siren as both sound and symbol in a time of global crisis. With newly composed sirens by 20+ experimental musicians including Laurie Spiegel, Evelyn Glennie, and Moor Mother, the film questions how we listen to warnings—both immediate and long-term. Can an alarm be beautiful? Can sirens speak to ecological grief, planetary data, or a future in peril? A cinematic meditation on sonic governance, collective memory, and the emotional architecture of emergency.
