Training course: Setting up your own bereavement peer-support group
More details: https://forms.gle/bXBMdxbqJVMZKYJY7
Bristol Ageing Better are offering a free training course to guide people through the process of setting up their own bereavement peer-support group in a way that is sustainable and does not rely on funding.
This free course is delivered by community development worker and freelance trainer Jan Perry and is based on the successful model of the STAR (Share, Talk And Remember) bereavement peer-support group in Stockwood.
The course involves 6 workshops which will take place online via Zoom, possibly moving to face-to-face at a later date depending on social distancing measures.
The course is suitable for anyone interested in setting up a bereavement peer-support group in their local neighbourhood of Bristol, and is particularly aimed at local residents and community workers who can support them with this.
To express interest in attending the course, please complete this short form: https://forms.gle/bXBMdxbqJVMZKYJY7
We will get in touch to confirm whether there is a place available. Once the course is fully booked, we will create a waiting list and see if we can run the course again in the future.
This course will next run on the following dates:
- Module 1: 12th August, 1pm – 3pm
- Module 2: 19th August, 1pm – 3pm
- Module 3: 26th August, 1pm – 3pm
- Module 4: 2nd September, 1pm – 3pm
- Module 5: 9th September, 1pm – 3pm
- Module 6: 14th October, 1pm – 3pm
Ideally you would be able to attend all dates. If you cannot attend all dates, please complete the form anyway as we might be able to run the course again. Similarly, if you do not have access to Zoom then please still get in contact in case we are able to run face-to-face sessions in the future.
If you have any questions, please email clairechivers@ageukbristol.org.uk or phone 0117 928 1539.
