3rd Dec: 1:30-3:00 PM St Werburghs Centre

This talk and Q&A will be focused around insights into the care sector in the UK and in Bristol specifically.

We will be joined by Investigations Editor Meirion Jones from The Bureau of Investigative Journalism – that will share the Bureau’s perspective on the Care Sector based on the Care Sector stories they have been leading on.

Ellen Devine will also be present as Project Coordinator for Healthwatch Bristol. Healthwatch Bristol is an independent voice for everyone using health and social care services. She will be sharing her insights from working at Healthwatch – and organisation to which anyone can speak to about their experiences of any health or social care service, and that will use then their feedback to work with providers, commissioners and regulators to improve services.

Tom Renhard from the Bristol Independent Mental Health Network will also talk us through mental health related aspects of care and recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections of mental health services in the local area.
